A new business network for the mountain industry was launched at the LISTEX Winter Exchange by LISTEX founder and Mountain Trade Network CEO James Gambrill.
‘Ten years ago , following the global financial crisis, we saw the need for the snowsports industry to come together and rebuild.
So we created our LISTEX events to do that – and now with SASTEX too our live business to business events exist for the whole mountain industry, bringing organisations together to grow their connects, benefit from shared knowledge and drive new business opportunities.
But we wanted to do more, we wanted to take the huge positive energy and business development that our live events create and make it accessible to mountain businesses globally, and for 365 days a year.
The Mountain Trade Network connects all organisations working in the mountain economy to help them reach customers, share knowledge that allows them to understand the market and modern marketing, and provides support and engagement, and to discuss the greatest challenges facing the industry such as climate change, technological change and demographic change and how to tackle these issues as an industry.
Many organisations working in the industry are in remote mountain areas and to travel to events to meet potential partners and distributors face to face is difficult
Many of them have a global client base, they need to reach customers all around the world. Difficult even for large organisations such as national tourist boards to communicate with so many different markets and segments with meaning, almost impossible for all of the smaller businesses in the industry.
The Mountain Trade Network brings our events to life online. Members can participate from anywhere in the world, without the need to travel, and enjoy all the benefits of attending in person.
We wanted to do more, the online space allows us to do more. The Mountain Trade Network Marketplace allows any organisation to publish an opportunity, this could be a new product, a press release, a video or blog, or a request for partnerships or press trips or familiarisation trips. It could be a company offering their services in SEO, marketing, advertising, legal, recruitment, product development, sales – whatever the need.
But what connects everything is the membership of MTN, this mountain community, a love and understanding of the mountains and what makes them such special places to visit. The marketplace become a thriving exchange of opportunities that can benefit all members.’
