Three new Dragons will join Dom Killinger of InTheSnow at the LISTEX Dragon’s Den at the Winter Exchange on September 26th 2018.
The LISTEX Dragon’s Den Forum session sees entrepreneurs pitch for investment or mentoring in front of our four ‘friendly’ dragons. Taking place at the LISTEX Winter Exchange at The Snow Centre on Wednesday 26 September, 2.20-4pm, entrepreneurs will pitch to our Dragon’s with the hope that their product or service is commended…
The LISTEX Dragons
This year’s panel of Dragons are all entrepreneurs who have run successful businesses both inside and outside the snowsports industry. Meet the Dragons below:
Martin Hannaford – Inventor and Founder, Ski Mojo
Martin Hannaford initially studied engineering at Imperial College then trained to be an Actuary before becoming a Management Consultant in the Life & Pensions Industry. His entrepreneurial spirit led him into a parallel “career” running a ski chalet operation in Meribel (A,B,Ski). He then spotted an opportunity in the ski industry that combined his engineering, financial and skiing experiences and took on the development of the ski-mojo, which has become the most recognised Power Assisted Skiing product on the market.
Adam Breen – Director, Le Verre Gourmand
Adam Breen has a degree in Meteorology and Oceanography which is of next to no use to him in his role at the helm of alpine drinks wholesaler, Le Verre Gourmand. A post-graduation summer on the Med saved him from a life of sitting on an ice floe letting go of weather balloons as instead he wound up running outdoor adventure centres, sports technology start-ups, a tour operator business and finally the holy grail – a booze emporium surrounded by ski resorts. Le Verre Gourmand hosted their inaugural ‘Grandes Fromages’ seminar in spring 2018 – an informal opportunity for ski business head honchos to dust themselves down after a long winter, compare war stories and share a well-earned drink or two
John Dawson – Owner, SkileGap
John Dawson is an entrepreneur who has run, bought, sold and turned around several businesses, mainly in the tech sector but also in food and furniture manufacture. Now, his work as a business mentor brings him face to face with start-ups in a variety of sectors. More recently he has acquired the well-established, original GAP ski company, SkileGap, which he runs with his daughter Charlotte.
Dominic Killinger – Publisher, In The Snow
Dom Killinger is a serial entrepreneur who founded InTheSnow almost 10 years ago after selling his previous marina wi-fi business to BT. That business also saw Dom successfully raise investment from Peter Jones on the BBC Dragons Den. Dom has been a LISTEX Dragon since 2014 and has invested and mentored a number of new entrepreneurs after a successful pitches. Dom also heads Powder Sky, a creative and digital development business with many clients in the snow sports industry.
