The LISTEX forum aims to stimulate, educate and encourage debate on timely issues in the snowsports travel industry.
Forum sessions range from workshops to presentations to round table debates. Speakers, presenters and participants have been chosen for their expertise, experience and to provide a differing perspective on our chosen topics, to explore each in the greatest possible depth.
All attendees of LISTEX are welcome to attend the forum sessions and we encourage you to actively participate, ask questions and add your views to every topic.
If you can’t make an entire session, all sessions are being recorded and will be available on the LISTEX website for viewing after the event.

Growing the Market vs Growing Market Share (10:00 Forum Room)
An examination of the strategies pursued by tour operators and resorts to grow business, what focus is on market share, and what on growing the market increasing the overall number of snowsports participants to raise business level for all. Whose responsibility is it to try and grow the market, and does it require more structured co-operation? Is growing market share a reasonable and realistic strategy in difficult economic times?

Snowsports Analysis – Ski Club of Great Britain (12.00 Forum Room)
The Ski Club of Great Britain’s snowsports analysis aims to give an unbiased overview of the snowsports market using empirical research from UK tour operators combined with a variety of other third party sources. This year, the Ski Club has teamed up with Snowsport England for the analysis, including figures and information from them on the participation in snowsports within England.

Sustainability and Ski (15:00 Forum Room)
Sustainability in the snowsports industry has traditionally been restricted to concerns over climate change, use of water and other resources in resort development and the impact of air travel and other environmental factors. This session will explore these areas and more with the most up to date findings presented by Professor Graham Miller. Fraser Wilkin, founder of weathertoski.co.uk, will offer further insight into the importance of snow patterns and climate change for ski resorts.
Professor Miller will also look beyond the environmental aspects of sustainability to consider economic, social and ethical considerations of the sustainable approach, seen through a business lens.
